TILTH-CERTIFIED ORGANIC IN-ROOM HOTEL DINING MENU IN NORTH AMERICA
Hotel updates menu with a variety of organic options from gourmet breakfasts to late-night snacks
CHICAGO (July 7, 2010) — Trump International Hotel & Tower® Chicago is pleased to announce a new, in-room dining menu at the Chicago hotel that
has been certified organic by Oregon Tilth, an international
non-profit research and organic certification organization. A first in
the North American hotel industry, the downtown Chicago luxury hotel
now provides discerning guests with innovative meal options that
utilize the freshest ingredients available, sourced daily from local
and sustainable farmers.
Divided into five different menu categories for breakfast, lunch,
dinner, late-night snacks and spa dining, the in-room dining menu at
Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago features award-winning
cuisine by Executive Chef Frank Brunacci. The 12 Oregon Tilth-certified
organic dishes include 10 satisfying options to satiate guests’ hunger
throughout the day, from light, energizing breakfasts to hearty dinners
entrees, as well as two healthy alternatives from the specially
designed spa menu.
"It’s
a great accomplishment for our in-room dining menu to be the first
hotel in North America to receive organic certification from Oregon
Tilth,” said Director of Operations Philipp Posch. "The new offerings
provide another layer of options for our guests, and cater to an
ever-growing audience that is committed to organic eating as part of a
healthy lifestyle.”
From
6 a.m. to 11 a.m., the hotel’s breakfast menu that is available in its
Chicago suites and guestrooms features three certified organic
offerings that include Swiss Bircher Müesli and two full breakfast
meals. The Fight the Fatigue Fitness Breakfast includes the guest’s
choice of fresh orange, apple, mango, cherry pomegranate, carrot or
grapefruit juice; an egg white omelet; chicken sausage; tropical
protein shake; a housemade Trump bakery muffin; and a choice of Julius
Meinl coffee, Harney & Sons tea or Oberweis skim milk. The
Heart-Healthy Morning Start offers the guest’s choice of fresh orange,
apple, mango, cherry pomegranate, carrot or grapefruit juice; plain,
vanilla or strawberry yogurt; Swiss Bircher Muesli; fresh fruit plate;
all-bran housemade Trump bakery muffin; and a choice of Julius Meinl
coffee, Harney & Sons tea or Oberweis skim milk.
To
satisfy guests’ appetites throughout the remainder of the day, the
downtown Chicago hotel offers a range of additional organic selections,
which include: a Classic Caesar Salad; Fusilli Pasta with wild
mushrooms, asparagus and English peas; Wok Fried Rice with tofu, beef,
chicken or shrimp; Wild Mushroom Risotto with Parmigiano Reggiano and
English peas; Organic Center Cut Pork Chop with apricot glaze; Sirloin
"Steak Frites” with maître d’butter; Rich Chocolate Cake with single
origin chocolate and chocolate sauce; and Caramel Flan with organic milk
and caramel.
As
part of its special spa dining menu, which was designed by a
nutritionist to offer alternatives for health-conscious guests, the
hotel offers Multi-Grain Pancakes with berry compote for breakfast and
an entrée of Organic Marinated Tofu Steak with stirfry mixed vegetables,
which is available for lunch or dinner.
For
guests who wish to place a special request for an off-menu in-room
meal, the Chicago hotel offers the following list of certified organic
ingredients, which are locally grown and delivered fresh daily, that can
be combined to satisfy the guest’s request, based on availability:
green peas; mixed berries; sugar; white unbleached flour; shoestring
frites; fusilli pasta; Turkish apricots; Arborio rice; jasmine rice;
Swiss Bircher Müesli; multigrain pancakes and waffles; chicken apple
sausage; Chinese stirfry vegetables; garlic shiitake tofu; centercut
porkchop; natural almond chocolate; dark chocolate covered blueberries;
berry syrup; a variety of mushrooms; romaine lettuce; grape tomatoes;
maître d’butter; apricot glaze; and whole milk.
The
